“An Apple A Day” Easy Apple Butter

Ingredients

  • Any organic apples you like- enough to fill up your slow-cooker

  • 2-3 tsp ground cinnamon

*note what is NOT on this list….sugar. It’s completely unnecesary and you can be proud you are harnessing delicious nutrition just as it was intended.

Directions

  1. Cut apples into quarters and remove seeds. No need to peel them. The peel adds fiber and nutrition.

  2. In slow-cooker: cook on high for 4 hours, stirring 1-2 times along the way.

  3. Remove soft apple “mush” and allow to cool.

  4. Transfer to a blender to create a smooth consistency.

  5. Add puree back to slow-cooker and add in the cinnamon.

  6. Cook on high another hour in order to thicken.

  7. Cool enough to EAT UP and enjoy!
